"Singing The Real Message"
Alot of Christian music ministers waste alot of breath singing about unimportant or even errant things. It's a good idea not only to sing about what is right, but about what is important.

We have been made right with God through Jesus. Be careful to promote the correct message. In Jesus, the sin of this world has been removed as far as east is from west permanently - as a gift. The only way to benefit from this is to believe it! And because we are no longer in sin, we are now as Jesus was in this world. It is the knowlege of this truth that enables us to leave sin behind. He FIRST loved us.... we didn't have to earn it, we can't earn it.

If there is blindness in the church, it centers around this issue. Most churches continue to lay the foundations of repentance of sins, over and over completely missing the point of the attonement. This ignornance of the purpose and power of the Cross locks people into an unwinnable battle with personal sin. It lowers our heads. It continually widens the gap between "clergy" and "laity".

The Bible says that our works are like filthy rags to God - like an attempt to buy His friendship. Our right standing before God is a gift. We have to grasp that before we can take a second step. This is the Gospel that God wants us to sing from the rooftops to people of every age, race, religion, and nationality.

When people sing about a performance based relationship with God, they put the cart before the horse... thus the heavy load. We don't have to get good to know God. That's why Jesus died, so that we could come boldly before His throne - not based on our snootiness, but based on His grace.

Nothing is more healing than finally getting a grip on the fact that through the Cross, and the Cross alone, you are totally loved and accepted. Resting in what Jesus did for you is precisely what gives you the power and motivation to leave sin behind. Sin just doesn't doesn't compare to the riches of the Kingdom.

Everywhere the church is missing this boat. Most of the church thinks that heaping heavy guilt and condemnation on people will bring them to Jesus. But we are called to win hearts. Otherwise, we are about as winning as somebody who blasts a tuba in your ears to wake you up in the morning. We are directed not just to speak the truth, but to speak it in love. When you sing... love. When you write songs, let love spill from them. The Cross is an illustration of God's love. That is what the world AND the church need to hear.

Nowhere is there a greater need for the message of God's grace than in the church. To learn more, go to:
