"...for in whatever you judge another, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things."
Is God judging America at all? We don't think so. The entire planet is displaying the evidence of a defeated, hatefilled archon running amok who knows his time is short. Anyone who travels extensively can see that the U.S. is better off than many countries. When we hear the phrase, "God is judging America", we just figure the speaker hasn't been out of his backyard in awhile.
The religious leaders of Jesus' time threw a woman caught in adultery into the dirt before His feet. Jesus said, "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone". The irony of this statement is that Jesus was wthout sin! After the religious leaders left them, though He alone had the right, Jesus said that He wasn't going to cast a stone either. This is the personality of our God. He must judge sin because He is righteous, therefore He sent His Son that our judgement might fall on Him. This is the age of grace... everything changed at the Cross.

The biggest problem America has right now is that much of the Church has not grasped the measure of God's grace. She is turning on the lost in judgement, rather than reaching for them in love. If we blame our problems on somebody else, it means we have not understood God's grace in our own hearts. Deep down, we are imagining that God is judging us for our mistakes, too. The Cross was powerful. God loves us and sees us as perfected in His Son. He is delighted to be with us and He understands the difficulty of living in a fallen world. It's a great thing to be able to grow and leave sin behind, but it does not improve Gods love for us... He already loves us beyond what we can grasp!
God's grace is as big and wide and deep and boundless as God Himself. Let's think twice before we are fooled into jumping onto pseudo-christian bandwagons. As long as this age lasts, anyone may step into the arms of God because of the Cross. There will be a time when the love of humans will grow cold. Let's try to postpone that day as long as we can.
